Updating Zenmuse L2/P1/H30T firmware on the Matrice 400

Ensure your DJI Matrice 400 and payload operate with the latest features and stability improvements. This guide walks you through the complete firmware update process for L2, P1, and H30T payloads.

Before beginning, ensure both your Matrice 400 (M400) and RC Plus 2 remote controller are updated to the latest firmware versions.

Step 1: Prepare the Firmware File

  1. Remove the microSD/SD card from your payload.

  2. Insert the card into your computer using a compatible card reader.

  3. On your computer, download the latest .bin firmware file for your payload from the appropriate link below:

  4. Once downloaded, copy the .bin file to the root directory of the microSD/SD card.

  5. Safely eject the card from your computer and insert it back into the payload.

Step 2: Install the Firmware

  1. Ensure the M400 aircraft is powered off.

  2. Attach the payload to the M400 using the Skyport connection.

  3. Power on both the M400 and the RC Plus 2 controller.

  4. The payload will emit a sequence of beeps, indicating the firmware installation process has started.

  5. After a short while, the RC Plus 2 will display a prompt on the Pilot 2 Main Screen asking to update the payload firmware.

  6. Wait until the payload’s beeps change to a faster rhythm, then select “Update Firmware.”

    • If you proceed before the beep rhythm changes, a connection error may occur.

  7. The beeping will pause during the update and resume at a faster rate once the process is complete.

Step 3: Confirm the Update

  • On the RC Plus 2 controller, open the Device Status page.

  • You should now see your payload listed and recognized by the system, confirming that the firmware update was successful.
