How do you Geo Tag pictures on Commander 2 and 3?

DGround Control includes features for creating geo‐tagged images and a .csv reference file to aid with post processing imagery for photogrammetry and improved geolocation. This utility can be used with any Draganfly supported imaging payloads that do not automatically record GPS information in the images metadata. Geotagging can be performed by completing the following steps. It is important to observe best practices for data collection for photogrammetry; when performing a data collection flight, ensure the SD card in your camera is empty with no old/existing imagery present.

1) Your Draganflyer UAV records an image capture log for every flight in which a camera shutter command has been issued. These logs will have the following file name structure: cap1_001.ulg
The number at the end of the capture log will increment by 1 for each subsequent log, the larger number will be your most recent image capture log file. These logs are recorded on the micro‐SD card in the aircraft’s power distribution circuit board. On a Commander2 this SD card is located directly beneath the right‐hand battery. On a Commander3 XL this SD card is located behind the rear battery connector. Copy the appropriate .ulg capture log from this SD card to your computer.

2) Identify the relevant images from your data collection flight and save these to a directory on your computer.

3) Launch DGround Control (DGCS)

4) In DGCS select the D icon, then choose Analyze Tools

7) Click the Select image directory button, then browse to and select the appropriate image directory. Once selected you will be given information regarding the number of images contain in the directory, it is vital that the number of images on the capture log matches the number of images in your photo directory. If these two numbers to not match, please double check that you have the correct capture log and that your image directory is not missing images and does not have addition irrelevant images.

.csv reference file listing the image names and geo‐locations. Proceed with using these images and
reference file in your photogrammetry software suite.
